I am passionate about conservation of species, ecosystems and have collected experience especially in avian ecology and conservation. My bachelor thesis was about assessing different body condition measurements in the Eurasian Hoopoe (Upupa epops), using the population situated in the Rhône valley in the canton of Valais. My master thesis is in collaboration with Vogelwarte and focuses on the influence of weather conditions of the foraging behaviour and diet composition of the alpine swift (Tachymarptis melba), focusing on colonies situated in human made infrastructure in Biel/Bienne, Solothurn, Baden and Luzern. With these projects I will have collected experience in radio telemetry (hoopoe) and GPS tracking (alpine swift), bird handling and measuring/tagging (both species). Additionally I will analyse food boluses from the alpine swifts, therefore, I am learning how to identify all the arthropods that are part of the swifts diet at least to order level.
