Nature conservation, and especially restoration, has interested me for a long time and I’m excited to contribute with my research. I’m especially passionate about the conservation of insects.
After finishing my BSc thesis on pollinator abundance, diversity and specialization in response to active grassland restoration, I’m shifting my focus onto another group of insects. For my MSc thesis, I’m investigating the Orthoptera of the lowland grassland project. I’m looking at the current orthopteran community and it’s change since 2018, before the restoration interventions happened. I’m interested in the relationship between orthopteran species richness and density and various environmental variables at both the local and landscape scale, especially the different restoration treatments. Additionally, I’m exploring the orthopterans dark diversity and am interested in the traits of species that unexpectedly failed to colonize the restored meadows.
